North Ferriby beat fellow promoted side Hallam to move to the top of the early Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table on a sweltering Saturday afternoon.Temperatures were in the low thirties celsius across the sixteen matches that were played, eight in each division, and they contributed to a lower goal tally than usual across the league as everyone adapted to the scorching conditions.
Niall Tilsley put Ferriby ahead in the 65th minute in front of the day's biggest crowd of 361 at the Dransfield Stadium.
Danny Buttle made sure of the victory with their second towards the end of the game and then Hallam were reduced to ten men as keeper Myles Wright was sent off.
Eccleshill United were top of the table at the start of play but were beaten 2-0 at
Barton Town, Harrison Coley and Daniel Trott with the Swans' goals at either end of the first half.
A Joe Jagger hat-trick helped
Emley AFC to a 6-0 victory at
Handsworth, with Donae Lawrence, Dominic Riordan and Conner Brunt also netting for the afternoon's largest scoreline.
Winterton Rangers were the other away winners in the Premier Division as a Daniel Walker brace and one each from Luke Anderson and Henry Curtis secured a 4-1 success at
Maltby Main whose sole goal came from Brandon Whitfield.
Luke Ayris scored both of
Bottesford Town's goals in a 2-1 home win over
Frickley Athletic whilst
Garforth Town beat visitors

Penistone Church were single-goal victors on their own turf as Kieran Ryan's 59th minute strike ensured all three points against
Golcar United and it was a goalless draw at
Thackley who were at home to
Albion Sports.
Wakefield AFC are at the summit in Division One after a 5-0 defeat of visitors
Armthorpe Welfare continued their excellent start to life in the NCEL.
Lucas Stubbs netted twice with Jack Curran, Mason Ruble and Daniel Youel also getting on the scoresheet at the Millennium Stadium.
Joining Wakefield on ten points are
Campion who, thanks to a 68th minute strike from Marcus Day, won 1-0 at
Dronfield Town.
And, 1-0 was the most common scoreline in Division One with five of the eight matches decided by a single goal.
Alex Wonham secured the points for
Retford FC at
Harrogate Railway Athletic whilst Declan Slater was the matchwinner for
Rossington Main at home to
Ollerton Town.

Shirebrook Town prevailed over visitors
Selby Town with Joshua Devereux's decider and
Swallownest narrowly beat
Staveley Miners Welfare, courtesy of Liam Frost in first half injury time at Rotherham Road.
Joe Wood and Harvey Booth scored as
Nostell Miners Welfare claimed their first points of the season in a 2-0 home win over
Athersley Recreation.
And, there were goals in the first ten minutes from Reece Moody and Craig Muirhead for
Beverley Town as they beat hosts
Parkgate, 2-1, Simon Barraclough with a second half consolation for the Steelmen.
The results showed the contrasting fortunes of both sides with Beverley claiming a maximum nine points from their opening three games whilst Parkgate are yet to get off the mark after four matches.
